Scotty McCreery Launches Six-City Major League Baseball Ballpark Tour
Scotty McCreery has embarked on a six-city Major League Baseball ballpark tour in support of youth baseball. By the tour’s end
this year, Scotty will have donated $50,000 to youth baseball programs, including Major League Baseball’s Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities program.
“I learned some of my greatest lessons playing sports and being a team member,” Scotty said. “Sports teach you so many life lessons about self-discipline, responsibility, teamwork, setting goals, and being fit. It’s awesome that Major League Baseball provides opportunities for kids who might not have a chance to play baseball and softball elsewhere. I’m proud to provide assistance to this program.”
Scotty’s baseball park tour began on Thursday, August 29 at the home of the Tampa Bay Rays where he presented a personal $5,000 check to a Tampa youth baseball organization before the game. He also threw out the first pitch and sang “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.”
At each game, Scotty will invite local radio winners to be his guest as he throws out the first pitch; provides CDs for lucky-row giveaways; sings as part of the seventh-inning stretch; serves a guest broadcaster; and participates in other activities that day. Fans can follow Scotty at every game on Twitter at@scottymccreery.
Baseball has played an important role in Scotty’s life. He started pitching at an early age, following in his father’s footsteps, who was also a pitcher. Scotty pitched throughout high school, balancing playing at Garner Magnet High School in Garner, North Carolina while also touring with Brad Paisleythroughout his senior year.
Scotty will release his new album, See You Tonight, on October 15. Although he’s already toured one ballpark (Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. on August 29), you can still catch him at these remaining dates:

Scotty McCreery, ‘See You Tonight’ Video – Exclusive Premiere
Scotty McCreery‘s ‘See You Tonight’ video tells a homecoming love story for a member of the United States military. It’s also a homecoming for the singer, as the performance footage was filmed on the campus of North Carolina State University, where McCreery attends school.
The excitement builds throughout this Roman White-directed clip, as the man in fatigues makes his way from a military base to his sweetie at home. The beauty — played by Raleigh model Magen Medlin — doesn’t know he’s coming, and for much of the clip, she’s seen dreaming of being in his arms. The lead actor makes a couple of stops along the way, including a trip to buy flowers and one to pick up a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts. It won’t be lost on McCreery’s hometown fans that he’s paying tribute to another North Carolina institution with the trip to Krispy Kreme.
For the performance footage, McCreery and his band (plus a sizable crew) took over the Brickyard on N.C. State’s grounds. The Brickyard is a plaza and meeting place in the heart of the Raleigh, N.C. campus. Numerous events take place throughout the year on those red and white bricks.
‘See You Tonight’ is the first single and title track of McCreery’s sophomore album. The project will be available on Oct. 15, but fans who pre-order it before 7:30PM CT on Thursday (Sept. 5) will receive a copy signed by the 19-year-old rising star himself. Pre-order ‘See You Tonight’ at McCreery’s online store at his official website.

Despite only moderate Country Radio success with the singles from his debut album Clear As Day, Scotty McCreery's legion of loyal fans helped the young star secure a Platinum-certified album for sales in excess of one million copies.
The Garner, North Carolina native and NC State sophomore will release See You Tonight on October 15, 2013. Produced by Frank Rogers, the album features 13 tracks, of which Scotty co-wrote five of the tracks, including the current Top 40 radio hit, the title track. Other star writers include Ashley Gorley, busbee, Frank Rogers, Kyle Jacobs, J.T. Harding, Ross Copperman, Matt Jenkins, Jon Stweart and Preston Brust, 1/2 of LoCash Cowboys.
“This album is a big step from where we were. I have been writing for a long time now, since I was a kid, but these are the first songs I've had a chance to record and release to the public and I'm excited,” says McCreery. “I was lucky to have my first single off the record be one that I co-wrote. I am excited about letting folks hear it. We have been working on this for the better part of a year now, so it's a long time coming.”
“I grew up loving old-school country, and you'll hear those things come out on this record,” he continues. “You will hear the contemporary country, but you will always hear the steel guitar and fiddle and those little nuances that make the older country what it was. I definitely am trying to stay true to my tastes as an artist on this album.”
