Judith Garloch, 75, has bought every album Scotty McCreery has ever made.
She and her husband, Kenneth, have tickets to his upcoming show on Thursday at the Midland Theatre.
After watching the country singer on TV, Judith is excited to see him in person. She’s hoping she’ll be able to meet him — even just for a few seconds — and say thank you.
She credits McCreery with saving her life.

Scotty leans on God to get him through the day...
Scotty McCreery shoulders a lot of responsibility for a 20-year-old. After winning Season 10 of ‘American Idol,’ he’s gone from a small town Southern boy to country music superstar with over 1.6 million albums sold. His secret to staying sane? Leaning on God to get him through the day.
The singer, who is also a phenomenal baseball pitcher, admits that many of his baseball caps have a Bible verse written on the brim.
In the new book ‘Once-a-Day Country Faith: 56 Reflections From Today’s Leading Country Music Stars,’ McCreery explains, “I keep a lot of my old baseball hats, and if you look in the hats, I’ve had since I started pitching, you’ll see Philippians 4:13 written on the brim” (quote via CMT).
Adds the ‘See You Tonight’ hitmaker, “That’s the Scripture that gets me through the day because sometimes you can’t do it all by yourself. You can’t do it on your own, so you lean on him.”
McCreery began relying on that Bible verse before winning ‘American Idol.’ He started writing it on his caps when he was a high school baseball player at Garner Magnet High School as a constant reminder.
It was especially helpful during his time on ‘Idol,’ as anyone can imagine that a strenuous national competition would be extremely taxing, especially on a high school student. “It was the best time of my life, but it was tough and definitely stressful,” he says. “That was when I’d have to really dig into the Word and pray and ask for prayers from my friends back home. I leaned on that verse, and I got through it.”
McCreery and fellow ‘American Idol’ star Lauren Alaina have both explained that they’re able to stay grounded because of their faith in God.
Scotty Shares A Few of His Favorite Things
Scotty McCreery recently sat down to talk about what he’s most looking forward to this Christmas. His wish list is, not surprisingly, humble. It’s the simple joys of the holidays that the North Carolina-born singer says are his favorites come December 25.
In this video exclusive to Taste of Country, the ‘See You Tonight’ singer talked about who and what he looks forward to this time of year. Now on break between semesters at N.C. State University, the 20-year-old will no doubt be waking up in his own bed at his parents’ home in Garner, N.C. Living the life of a normal college student is important to this star.
